Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JP Morgan Chase said, and I quote,
“Economies of scale are a good thing. If we didn’t have them, we’d still be living in tents and eating buffalo.”
Actually Jamie, economies of scale are sometimes a good thing but they can also be a very bad thing. Large retailers with central distribution sites deprive local businesses of income opportunities and place an added burden on the environment by transporting items that can be locally sourced.
Why buy pine that originated in Idaho when you live in the Pine Tree State? It makes no sense on any level.
We, at the Lumbery, would like to sell you pine from Maine…what a crazy notion? Not to mention hemlock, cedar, spruce and fir from Maine.
We are hoping to open our doors in November and hope to see you all there.
Thanks for all the continued support and well wishes.
