Here is what usually happens. You purchase a piece of wood in a standard length. This could be 8′ or 12′. But you only need 7.5′. So you just throw that half a foot in the trash bin. Now picture this on a mass scale. Landfills are clogged with millions of tiny cut ends that were neither sorted nor repurposed.
Instead, the Lumbery saves all these little pieces of dried, sustainably harvested, Maine wood (a small portion comes from eastern Canada) and places them in giant coffee bags to be used for kindling.
You win, we win, the Earth wins. It is a win win win situation.
Listen to what our customer had to say…
“This is sick dude!”
That’s right Daniel. This is sick. But you know what is actually sick? The Earth. And small ideas, like turning cut ends into kindling, add up…in a really positive way.
And be sure to be on the look out for our next newsletter where we tell you how awful treated lumber is for the planet…plus we provide you with fantastic alternatives.
But best of all. You can turn your empty coffee bag into a planter or a bag or whatever. So actually, I think this is a quadruple win situation. Even better.
Available exclusively at our store in Sunny Cape Elizabeth.
Hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
Mike Friedland and the entire Lumbery crew.
