But of course we all know from having read and watched A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens that we can change.
To quothe Scrooge, “Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead,” “But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!”
At this point I think Scrooge orders some Lumbery gift cards for Tiny Tim and his siblings. No more wasteful packaging he shouts from his window…I think.
“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”
Then Scrooge purchases some hard woods to make a charcuterie board for his neighbors…I think.
“Scrooge was better than his word. He did it all, and infinitely more; and to Tiny Tim, who did not die, he was a second father. He became as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man, as the good old city knew, or any other good old city, town, or borough, in the good old world.”
Remember to BUY LOCAL this holiday season and have a very Merry Christmas!!!!
Sincerely,
Michael Friedland and the entire Lumbery Crew AKA Ents.
